Aug. 9th. We left Big Meadow at about 0830 hours and planned on hiking the 15.3 miles to Echo Summit and another several miles into the Desolation Wilderness. Our total for day would be about 17.1. Our parents and our trail angels. Eric and I were very lucky to have parents who were both willing and able to assist us with re-supply stops and endless encouragement. Here, they are ready to see us off at the Big Meadow Trailhead.
